The Boardwalk Stand - 1937

OUR BEGINNING

In 1937, Everett Fisher and his cousin Edmund Pusey launched Pixton’s Popcorn on the Ocean City boardwalk at Talbot Street. Everett handled day-to-day operations; Edmund later left, and Everett continued under his own name, using his own secret caramel recipe that we've been using ever since.

Generation #2

DONALD STEPS IN

Everett’s son Donald Fisher grew up working by his side and assumed operations during WWII. In the 1950s, Donald and Calvina began raising their family—Cindy, Marty, and Don Jr.—while running the boardwalk stand together.

Expansion & Next Generation

MORE FAMILY

MORE STORES

In the 1980s, Marty and her husband, Bill opened a second location in Fenwick Island, Delaware, expanding the business to Delaware beaches. Founded as a separate business, this store grew to become the Fisher's Popcorn of Delaware we are today.

FENWICK STORE EXPANDS

In 2008, the original Fenwick Island location (pictured) moved across the street to a larger space that we own. This allowed us more space to do more things.

GROCERY STORES & BEYOND

In 2012 we started wholesaling to specialty retail stores. All of that popcorn was made in our stores at the beach until we opened a dedicated manufacturing space in 2024 in Roxana, DE. Now our 4th generation is sharing the joy of Fisher's with new snackers all across the country.

WHAT'S OUR SECRET?

SECRET RECIPE

We still cook Everett's original recipe. It's more of an art than a science. Every cook goes through a lengthy training process to learn the art.

SIMPLE INGREDIENTS

Our recipe pre-dates most of the processed ingredients you find in today's food products. Fortunately we've kept the same recipe since 1937 and we're not changing it.

STRICT QUALITY CONTROL

If we don't cook our popcorn right, it won't taste like Fisher's Popcorn. If a batch comes out wrong, we throw it away, no questions asked.

FAMILY VALUES

We're a fourth generation family business with no intention of stopping. 3 things are certain in life, death, taxes, and the Fisher family popping corn at the Delmarva beaches.
