In 1937, Everett Fisher partnered with his wife’s cousin, Edmund Pusey, to open Pixton’s Popcorn on the Ocean City, Maryland Boardwalk at Talbot Street. Everett ran the stand daily, perfecting his secret caramel popcorn recipe that quickly became a local favorite. When Pusey left the business, Everett proudly put his own name on the stand. Even during WWII, the tradition lived on as his son Donald managed the shop while Everett served in the military.

After WWII, Donald Fisher and his wife, Calvina, devoted their lives to running the Ocean City boardwalk stand while raising their three children—Cindy, Marty, and Don Jr. Under Donald’s watchful eye, every batch of handmade caramel popcorn was prepared to perfection. The family worked side by side, keeping the Fisher name synonymous with quality boardwalk popcorn.

Old Fenwick Store
In the 1980s, Marty Fisher and her husband, Bill, opened a new Fisher’s Popcorn shop in Fenwick Island, Delaware, at the busy corner of Route 54 and Coastal Highway. Their four children all grew up working in the store, learning the craft from an early age. Today, they continue in the business, running Fisher’s Popcorn shops in Fenwick Island, Bethany Beach, and Rehoboth Beach, proudly carrying on the family tradition outside of Ocean City.
